A cover of a song by New York group, We Are Scientists. A song that I like because it has no un-necessary frills and has a lively 'Live' feel.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
My son asked for the first, We Are Scientists album, 'With Love And Squalor', for Christmas 2002. I'd not heard of them up until then. I also enjoyed the album. A simple and classic three piece line-up of, drums, bass and guitar. This song is from their initial demo album, 'Fun Safety and Learning [in that order] from 2001. So, many years later, I've decided to have a go at recording my own version of it. I added my own Major Snagg style harmony guitar solo ... just because I can ! :-) and yes, I used my new Yamaha Revstar RE620 again. Bass was the Rickenbacker 4003 and drums via a now very ancient Zoom RT-123 drum machine ... all my favourite musical toys.

Human Technology Will Render You Obsolete [We Are Scientists] (c) 2002 Keith Murray / Chris Kane We were watching as the sun was slowly setting We were talking like the world was at an end You can laugh about it now It won't matter anyhow when we're gone Uh oh, uh oh, oh We were lost, and saw our sun was slowly setting We were hoping that the world was at an end You can laugh about it now It won't matter anyhow when we're gone Uh oh, uh oh, oh You'll ask about us when we're gone [You'll ask about us when we're gone] you'll ask about us when we're gone [You'll ask about us when we're gone] We won't be liable for what happens then guitar solo; You can laugh about it now you won't be laughing quite as loud when we're gone Uh oh, uh oh, oh You'll ask about us when we're gone you'll ask about us when we're gone You'll ask about us when we're gone (You'll ask about us when we're gone) You'll ask about us when we're gone (You'll ask about us when we're gone) We won't be liable for what happens then We were watching as the sun was slowly setting We were talking like the world was at an end guitar solo:

I love the fact that you always introduce me to music I haven’t heard before ! What a great driving track ! Revstar sounds great . Fantastic vocals and production . I don’t need to listen to the original this is good enough for me ! Just to say having left message on your main page saying I can’t type in this page it’s now working ok !

Thought it was an 80’s drum machine but looks like 1999, which isn’t too ancient…well…we were at Palings one night in 80’s (biggest music store in the day in Bris) and they programmed a DX9 and a Roland drum machine to play Janet Jackson’s ‘what have you done for me lately’ at full tilt and Bruce bought the synth on the spot! Ah, good times!

mate, what an excellent cover you've done here (I prefer it to the OG btw!) your guitar skills, mixing (love that 80's drum machine) and vocals David are brilliant, - this is brilliant! Also, I thought the line was 'who'll ask about us when we're gone', lol... power pop genius David, well done!

I really like this & you've done a great job with everything - vocals, guitar & production. Never heard the song before, or the band...you have a knack of coming up with some long lost gems!
