Hi Steve, how are you ? I like the look of your friends Suhr guitar. I've just uploaded my cover of the song, 39 by Queen. I hope that you can spare 3:30 minutes to have a listen. Yes, all that in just 3:30 minutes ... 3:30, the perfect pop song length.

hey Steve, only if you get a chance as it's a bit of a listen but we've got a new Lp up of the synth pop stuff we've done recently (nu-mixes) - cheers!

Thanks for stopping over. Finally getting to all my instrumentals and adding lyrics. Most have been re arranged.

Steve, I haven't played the song, '39' by Queen for a very long time. There are some beautiful chord voicings and changes. D to Eb dim. is one of them. It still works if you play D to B7. But actually, Db dim isn't an especially difficult chord to finger, it just sounds as if it might be. All the various, (sus 4) chords are pretty straight forward really. So I've been brushing up on playing this fabulous song. There are some vocal high notes to reach in this song. When I was a younger guy, I didn't have any problem with them. I'll need a good old warm up to sing it now. The folk club crowd are very forgiving lot. Thanks for the nice comments about my long lost instrumental with the featured, 'brass section'. Cheers.

Thanks so much Steve. Decided to do a jazz track as not done one for awhile. The funk will be back for the next one. Cheers.

39 ...Well, maybe as a very stripped down acoustic version with 2 acoustic guitars, a kick drum and bass. I think that the Brian May guitar orchestrations and other overdubs are a step or two beyond me. ;)

Thanks Steve for checking out Norwegian Wood. (Now Im in trrouble a guitar teacher listening...) Funny you mention teaching that my Brother who is a professional musician showed me that back when I was in college and it was one of the first things I did that wasn't 3 chords and a cloud of dust. Good song to teach..

I'm planning on playing, '39', by Queen the next time I play at the folk club. Fortunately it's not a serious, 'folk songs only', sort of folk club. 39, by Queen, (on their, A Night At The Opera album) is a great strummy, sing along kind of song. It should go down ...well I hope so.

Hi Steve, thanks for your encouraging comments about Dirty Old Town. I really appreciate it. I have made an alternative version where the end section repeats the main twangy guitar solo that fades slowly out. My old band mate Eddie will be happy! ;) Actually, it does seem to work really well being a bit shorter. So, perhaps he's got a good point.
