I wanted to smoothly segue out of Awaken into something else, but I really didn't know where to go. As usual, I loaded up a random synth sound and hit record on the sequencer. I did not notice that I had quantizing on and the line that I ended up recording sounded nothing like what I had actually played but it sounded really cool. There was only one problem, the quantizer stretched and scrambled the riff I had originally played over 5 beats instead of the original 4. Instead of trying to fit what I had recorded onto a 4 beat bar, I simply changed the time signature of the song. The chord change at the end of Awaken was added to accommodate the opening riff of this song so that the two songs could be blended together and this actually worked out quite well.
