Tracy Keeney, Tracy Rivest, Country and Contemporary Christian music
Hello and Welcome!! My name is Tracy Keeney (Rivest) and I'm a songwriter writing mostly Contemporary Christian and Country music and dabbling in sacred choral works as well. I'm a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association, and am registered with BMI. Since several people have emailed me asking about a CD, I thought I'd take this opportunity to explain why I don't have one. Though I did write and sing the songs on my site, these are actually just "demos". But, if you hear a hear a guy singing-- yeah, that's not me :) UPDATE: Julie Burton did the vocals on Tapestry of Life. LOVE her voice! Demos like these are what I send to the record labels. Then hopefully, we sign a publishing contract, and one of their artists record a song and put it on THEIR CD. For example, the demo here for "It's Still Your Hand" was recorded and produced in Nashville by Galen Breen. My co-writer, Steve Anderson and I then sent the demo to Lamon Records, and one of their gospel artists, Sheila Albritton recorded it, and put it on her latest CD, "Faith In Time". I'm really not interested in the performing/gigging side of music, having to promote myself, etc, so I'd rather have someone ELSE record one of my songs and put it on their CD. And actually, I did the travelling/touring thing with a band back when I was 19 and single. I'm 40 now, and married with 4 kids. My happy butt wants to stay home! Eventually, I WILL put a CD together of me singing my songs. But right now, I still have about 30 songs that have yet to be professionally demoed. Once I have a good 10-12 songs done, I'll put them on CD. A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU to all those who've been so supportive! My sweet husband William and our incredible children, Sara, James, Mary and Emma; my mother Rosemary, my brother Joe and his wife Nicole; and dear friends, Jennifer, Michael, Tom and Judy. Most especially, to a loving Father in Heaven and His Holy Son, my Savior and Redeemer, who have given me every breath, every joy, and every inspiration. What CAN I do, but SING! Tracy

Story behind the song
Throughout the scriptures, we read repeatedly how the Savior talked about the innocence of children; that we should "become as little children" and humble ourselves as a child..., "for of such is the Kingdom of God". Little children are full of faith and hope and are innocent in the eyes of the Lord. But then we grow up! We make bad choices, and often fall away, and despair in our sin and weakness. In a sense, we're "fallen angels". This song calls us to repent and "come unto Christ".
Lyrics
"Fallen Angel" Words and Music by Tracy Keeney Guitar: Matt Gibby Piano & Vocals: Tracy Keeney Production: Clarke Jackman Once white as snow Like an angel above So young and so pure And filled with His love. Heart now darkened and emptied Of light it once knew Come back to His arms They're waiting for you. Fallen angel, lift your eyes Fallen angel, tears can dry He's there to the end Savior and Friend He'll heal your wings And He'll help you fly again. He'll heal your broken wings You'll fly again. Innocence gone Spirit removed Your soul feels imprisoned But you're still free to choose So choose to renew The promise once made Bathe in His sweet forgiveness It cleanses like rain Repeat Chorus Though you feel miles away From His loving embrace You can open your heart As a home for His grace Repeat Chorus
