Story behind the song
At the time this song was written, I was at a jam session with the band. We were sitting there playing some melodies when this idea about wild women, playing music, and rough old honky tonks came up. We started writing this song almost immediately.
Lyrics
“Wild Women” Words/music written by S. LeeAndrew Bray/Blaine Bennett/Brandon Bennett (BMI) Verse One Woke up this morning what a horrible sight Sick to my stomach from all the beer I drank last night I guess I couldn’t help it that I’m living this way But the words are ringing in my head all the things my mom would say And she’d say… Chorus Wild women them ol’ honky tonks Living loosely singing them damned old country songs Will get you nowhere but six feet in the ground But I guess I’ll keep on singing till they lay this body down Verse Two Spent my whole life playing in these bars Not getting nowhere trying to be a singing star Ten years older and three more steps behind Living for the moment wish I could push rewind And turn back time… Chorus Wild women them ol’ honky tonks Living loosely singing them damned old country songs Will get you nowhere but six feet in the ground But I guess I’ll keep on singing till they lay this body down Instrumental Chorus Wild women them ol’ honky tonks Living loosely singing them damned old country songs Will get you nowhere but six feet in the ground But I guess I’ll keep on singing till they lay this body down Fade Out "Wild Women” Copyright (C) 2009 No Middle Ground Publishing Co.
