Story behind the song
Our first single is Slammin' The Door, from our soon to be released 2010 Megaton EP. Bassist Paul Caputo is handling all of the artwork for the project, so thank you Paul! Slammin was recorded and mixed at New Alliance East in Cambridge, MA by Ethan Dussault (sorry if I spelled that wrong, I'm sure Paul will fix it!) mastered there as well by Nick Zampiello. Thanks to Alvan Long for making it comfortable for us to get in the studio! The lyrics were written by B-FAM and the music by Steve, Jeff, and Paul. As soon as we put this song together in the basement we knew it was going to be great. I love everything about this song: the intro/verse riff is sneaky cool, the chorus riff is slammin', the two different vocals in the chorus add to the attitude, the middle section really came together when we put the solo over it, and the overlapping chorus and verse vocals battle each other beautifully at the end. Really, every part of this song is just right, give it repeated listens to hear all of the different textures and dynamics, to me it has that epic feel of a song like Paradise City. Get off on this debut track by Blackbelt Dynamite and stay tuned for our upcoming tracks, EP, and Rock Band Network video game- more on all that later...
