Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. Story behind the song

Written for the December '09 Coconut Blues Club blues challenge.

I wrote this one from the drums up which is not my usual approach. The drums and bass are playing two different 4/4 feels and tempos resulting in a kind of phantom 6/8 time that the changes happen over. That inspired the lyrics and title.

Really like what you did with that rhythm, and the way you used the confusing effect in the lyric.  Cerebral and laid back at the same time which is an impressive feat.  Great vocal and guitar playing too.  Top class piece.
