Story behind the song
We made a demo of this song a couple of years ago. It found its way in and out of our set list several times but seemed like it lacked something. We always wanted to put a little pedal steel in the breaks. It was left in the demo stage for a while and almost forgotten until last summer. We waited until we had the right opportunity to revamp it and record it again. Thanks to the talents of Don Drummer we were able to bring it back and get it out there.
Lyrics
It used to be funny when we were so far gone There used to be nothin' left to lose. There used to be good times in the choices that we made But now there's nothin' left to choose. I remember thinkin' when I was sixteen years old About a girl I thought I loved I tried to tell her but she was way too fast I think I thought I said too much Lift me up and I will follow you down, to where the river meets the sea. Help me out 'cause I'm afraid I will drown, if the water washes me clean. What it is and what it was can never measure where I'll be. I'm not thinkin' about tomorrow no, 'cause it's much too far to see Lift me up and I will follow you down, to where the river meets the sea. Help me out 'cause I'm afraid I will drown, if the water washes me clean.
