Jay Y Cess are a Puerto Rican Reggaeton duo, consisting of Pedro Jason Martinez (Jay) and Luis Roman (Cess). The duo is based out of Atlantic City, New Jersey where they have created their own independent group âœRabioso Musikâ. They started their careers early 2007 and have been together since, having success performing at local night clubs, opening performances for artists such as Rakim y Ken Y, and Xtreme, then making appearances at the Atlantic City Puerto Rican Day Parade & the Latin Festival. At the beginning of 2008 they headed to Puerto Rico to record their first Music Video of their single song, âœCada Vezâ, which it was dedicated to their friend âœPapo el Barberoâ who passed early that year. Later in that year Jay Y Cess, prepared to record their first album which they titled âœLas Fuerzas Especialesâ â“ translation â“ âœSpecial Forcesâ. The album was recorded in two weeks at their studio in NJ with producer Nostra who flew in from Puerto Rico and then mastered by Nestor Salomon in PR. With little money for promotion as an independent duo Jay Y Cessâs Manager Alfredo Martinez and Producer Nostra managed to get their song âœFenomenalâ (ft. Jo-Sel) airplay at the FM 96 in PR early in 2009. The Official Album Release Party & Performance on July 3rd 2009 was held at âœCuba Libreâ located at âœThe Quarterâ in the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. For their performance they invited artist âœYoung Leekâ from Def Jam to come out and perform together their song âœBailaâ which they collaborated for the album. During the performance DJ Bebo blended the Baila song track with one of Michael Jacksonâs track to remember and give respect to âœThe King of Popâ, who passed away the week prior. The event was a success; Jay Y Cess performance was energetic and thrilling as they had Cuba Libreâs crowd on their feets... BIO's.... Jay nacià en North Bergen New Jersey, y fue criado en Yauco, Puerto Rico. A la edad de 12 sus padres se divorciaron y para Jay fue fuerte aceptarlo. A los 16 aÃos de edad mientras terminaba su cuarto aÃo en New Jersey empezà a trabajar como barbero en una barberÃa local. Al graduarse firmo con el Army, donde luego fue activado para la guerra, y desde el 2003 al 2004 estuvo activo en Iraq. Cess siempre tuvo una fuerte pasiÃn por la música urbana, pues fue criado por su familia musical. Cess nacià en Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, y fue Criado por sus padres en Puerto Rico y luego en Atlantic City, New Jersey. A los 19 aÃos de edad empezà su carrera cantando en las calles con sus amigos. La mayorÃa de su tiempo se mantuvo improvisando en las calles, y luego en los clubs.
