Story behind the song
There's always an end to the storm... This song is about a love that didn't quite make it - but, as the song says, the sun always shines again. The primary motivation behind the song (like several of my songs) is HOPE. As I wrote in "Things Change", these songs are really all about things changing for the better. No matter WHAT your circumstances.
Lyrics
The sun sets on the city As it has upon our love The light that shown so brightly No longer shines above. The dim lit stars in the night sky Just beyond our grasp So it was with you and I We knew it couldn't last. (Chorus) But I know and you know That the sun always shines again Through the darkest clouds Never to end. And I know that even in the darkest of nights There's still a star Shining its own light. The clouds are just a cover For the beauty of the sky Temporary and blown over In the wink of an eye. And just beyond the raging storm Hidden in our minds Lies a perfect rainbow One we just can't seem to find. (Chorus) (Bridge) (Chorus)
