Definitely one of the newest, and quite possibly the freshest, most unique bands that Calgary Alberta has seen in quite some time..."A Cry of Hounds" is ready to infect your ears, your mind, your heart. This band has successfully captured the sounds of some great 60's garage punk with these songs. Based on 16 b-grade horror flicks with such titles as "Beast of Yucca Flats", "Teenage Zombies" and "Creature From the Haunted Sea", this music will bring a smile to your face and get your whole body grooving to the music! All 16 tunes are now captured on one glorious garage punk rave-up album called GARAGE MONSTERS.

Story behind the song
The Windigo or Wendigo is part of North American Native mythology...in times of starvation, Windigo would appear as a horrific monster with a taste for human flesh... There is now a criminal mental illness known as 'Windigo Psychosis'.
Lyrics
Windigo I wonder if you're real or just a dream You sure seem real to me I know you're out there - I see you every day Patiently waiting for me While you consume with some kind of need And I pretend that I don't see Won't be a party to your malice or your greed Well, not to that degree You call my name but I don't want to go Now that I know you are the Windigo I know I heard about you long ago But now I know you are the Windigo If this is real then I don't want to see your face Don't want to see you anywhere I'd run away I'd leave the dark without a trace But still you would be there And in the dark the cold wind blows I feel you drawing near I try to turn away I try to run away but somehow I'm still standing here How could it end this way?

Hey Jeff--This is simply a great song in every way--haunting lyric, excellent production, great vocal. It has a different feel than the 'Hounds' project, too. And your guitar sounds super--it has that 'sag' that gets me every time. Cheers, MH
Jeff, great lyrics, wonderful singing, guitar work, drums, organ chords. Rock solid solo, great tone here, too! You call my name and I don´t want to go... Well, seems this is A BIT MORE relaxed than a lot of the garage works, right? COOl! Andreas
