Story behind the song
Written shortly after the Vietnam War in 1975. Though I served in VN, some others chose to go to Canada rather than serve in an unpopular war. I heard their stories, and although proud of my military service, I always dreamed of one day traveling there to take in the beauty of our neighbor up north...
