Lyrics
It wasn’t very long ago when you first came into my life I saw the pain and sorrow there I saw the trouble and the strife I wasn’t really quite aware All I knew is you’d say, ‘Hold me’ Well then the nights would come and go When you were never really here Then somewhere in the night, a call, Your voice a beacon of despair, ‘You just don’t know, Oh, Don’t scold me’ Just take my hand Just take my heart Please ease this pain And Hold me. Now I hear you’re doin’ well Your song is way up in the charts Then every night you're on a stage You’ve mastered all those magic arts You sing that song so well, The one the DJ’s play called ‘Hold Me’ And they sing, ‘Just take my hand Just take my heart Please ease this pain And Hold me.’ It wasn’t very long ago when first walked out of my life I saw the pain and sorrow though I saw the trouble and the strife You weren’t really quite aware All you could say was ‘Don’t Hold Me’ Just take my hand Just take my heart Please ease this pain And Hold me. Just take my hand Just take my heart Just take this pain And Hold me. Just take this pain Just take this pain And Hold me.

A melancholy story song, your introduction on the description lead me to this one, had to hear it and it's really different and interesting, some beautiful playing and poetic lyrically which is always nice to hear, there's a lot of longing in the melody, the chorus is a sad refrain, a really nice song and I hope to hear more of your work as soon as I can. This is great!

Listening to "Hold Me," Larry. I listened to a few other tracks first, but am commenting on this one because it contains words, and I like songs more than instrumentals - for the most part. As you can imagine, I'm very sympathetic with the process of doing everything yourself - music, lyrics, performance, arrangement and production. It's tough to do all of those equally well and everyone of them excellently. Without question the lyrics are the strongest element here. They are clever and tell the story well. It made me sad thinking of the person that had bled you, to borrow your description. The voice should be produced with a richer bass, in my opinion. It's too tinny sounding. The vocal volume is about right, and - we share this - I love it when I can pick out the words without needing to scan libretto. The melody reminds me a bit of "Paint it Black," but the music is anything but Rolling Stones! More like a blend of baroque and calypso. Very ornate
