Lyrics
There is no joy in Rockingham The lights have all gone out The one you came to see is gone The one it's all about I left you all back in Daytona Racing like I did In a heartbeat I was gone Because I loved that kid One last turn and I might get to see him win Like my daddy did for me I'll push him to the end If I was hurt too bad to race I couldn't live like that Please don't cry I've found my heaven Daytona's where it's at Drivin' down that superstretch I found myself I knew that this was right where I belonged I know that this is where is where I'll spend eternity I'ts like I knew it all along There won't be joy in Talladega or in Martinsville The thrills I gave you there on Earth Remain in heaven still So whenever you go racing Look for me each time The hand that wave's that checkered flag Is going to be mine Daytona's where it's at..... (Repeat)

A brilliantly written song, surprised Nashville hasn't been on the phone trying to grab this one! Maybe you should pitch it to some publishers, it's superb!

Cool song especially with the use of reverb and echo to create a haunting effect. Great vocals and lyrics.

I often go to the UK's Silverstone Racing Circuit to watch the different race meetings, so I can relate. Great vocals!

Very nicely done. I can see this being done on a stage with the spot light on you sitting on a stool playing guitar while someone is on the key board and a hush fills the audience while the absorb this song. Great job!
