They told me God loves me and he’s got a plan for me/And I could be part of his plan if I would only believe/Receive, accept and confess that Jesus died for me/Then my life would be filled with joy, happiness and peace/That sounded good to me so they had me say the “sinner’s prayer,” ask Jesus into my heart and he would take it from there/Take away my cares and guarantee I’d enter Heaven’s gates/And so I prayed and now they say I’m just a “sinner saved by grace”/
Now every day I’m hearing “Christian” radio and “Christian” TV/ Tell me free from sin is something I can never be/And though what I read in the scriptures seems contradictory/To what they preach I figure hey, they got doctorate degrees/And their indoctrinating me saying the things I wanna hear/Just to please my sinful nature and tickle my itching ears/They don’t mention the fear of God and they don’t talk about my sins/They tell me God no longer see ‘em since Jesus became my friend/They give me license for immorality but call it grace/And base my salvation on a past moment of faith/I think it’s great that I can live in my sins and still be a “Christian”/Man these holiness people just don’t know what their missing/
