I am an independent writer/performer/producer making summery sounds with lots of harmony, guitars, and emotion.
Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.

Story behind the song
Claude the Explorer wanted me to to continue in the '64 Beach Boys vein, so here it is!
Lyrics
I gotta dragon in my wagon and I’m ready to skip I gotta tiger in my tank, gonna head for the strip I gotta ride, ride, ride Movin’ out to the other side I’m popping the clutch Don’t be asking for much from me I gotta date with an angel and a dollar to spend I’m a fool to play it cool and say she’s only a friend I gotta ride, ride, ride Movin’ out to the other side I’m popping the clutch Don’t be asking for much from me It’s the end of summer… Time is running out on my summer's dream Fast cars, slow dances, blue moon beams Soon I will be marching with a pack on my back Pounding down the pavement on the streets of Iraq I got a reason to live, I got a reason to fight I got a star up in heaven winking at me tonight I gotta ride, ride, ride Movin’ out to the other side I’m popping the clutch Don’t be asking for much from me It’s the end of summer…

Hello Johnny, Nice work on "I Gotta Ride". Excellent lead vocals, harmonies and instrumentals. This one makes me feel like jumping in the car and going for a cruise. Except it would only be around the block with the current gas prices....Tee heee Thank you your kind words on the tribute. I am planning multi-collab version of it soon, if would you be interested in singing a verse, a harmony or two or a guitar lead on the intro, please let me know. I will be starting it soon. I am proud of you and all of our troops. For all that you all have sacrificed for our nation, Thank You !!! Wishing you and yours a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, :) Kurt

Sweet ride, Johnny. Like a Brian Wilson time capsule from 1965. It's got that freewheeling endless summer vibe of the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. This song reminds me of a bright summer day on the village green of Hyannis, MA on Cape Cod in the 1980s when a teenaged Bill Wright witnessed the rare reunion of Jan and Dean at a free concert that was supposed to be just Mike Love with Dean from Jan and Dean. Halfway into the exhilirating concert, Dean announced a very special surprise guest. Jan himself shuffled up to the microphone, still bearing some of the effects from his devastating car crash many years before, but delivering a great vocal performance with Dean, singing all their great hits from the '60s. What a day!
