Redheaded Boogie #2

Just a little bit of Boogie Woogie fun! The 3rd verse ia very slightly suggestive; but I did not feel it needed an advisory. Tell me if I am wrong!

For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Story behind the song
You'll have to ask Calvin. I try not to ask him too much about what's going on inside his brain!
Lyrics
A good friend of mine, Calvin Stewart, wrote these lyrics a couple of weeks ago and posted them at another Internet Music Community to which I belong, asking if anyone wanted to do music for it. So, I put this together and sent it to him. Well, another member of that community did the same. The other composer's version got to Calvin first, so we call his "#1" and mine "#2", thus the title. Now...you don't have to ask! I have a cracked knuckle on my left hand and the guitar playing is less than stellar, as it has been for the past couple of weeks. At least I didn't cut it off! The last verse is very slightly suggestive. But I didn't think it was enough so that it required a warning. Am I correct? Please let me know if I judged that incorrectly. I'm doing the lead vocals (sorry 'bout that, folks!) as well as all three background vocals. Wow...a double whammy on your ears! Hope you like it anyway! The Redheaded Boogie #2 © July 2007 words by C. Stewart/Music by Alan D. David, BMI All Rights Reserved Woodpecker sittin' in an old pine tree Tappin' out a rhythm for you and me Woody don't mind if the world can see Everything's cool when you feel free Chorus.. He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He was drilling all night long Right next door, on a lonely limb Hot little birdie got her eye on him She gives a wink, a sexy grin Time to crank up that drill again Chorus... He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He was drilling all night long Kept the beat with his high speed drill That rat-a-tat-tat was quite a thrill Little pecker stays hard, all the time I bet I know what's on his mind Chorus... He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He did the redheaded boogie He was drilling all night long
