Story behind the song
The text for this song was found amongst the recordings of old Russian Christmas rituals. On Christmas Eve the village people, wearing masks and carnival costumes, go from door to door singing and collecting sweets and pies. The song was written for the theatre performance "The Christmas Eve". Premiere: Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam 1999.
