Story behind the song
I felt compelled after a few years of all the hype of no Christmas in Christmas, to write a song that does not have the word Christmas in it. In fact, I wrote this song with some very strong theology in it. The Title He Came To Be: is a play on I am that I am, or I will be that I will be from Exodus. Also, I lean toward the fact that God came and He created all things before He came. The Word became flesh and dwelt with men. The theology is all there. I hope you enjoy this rough cut of the song.
Lyrics
Cold was the night, dark and bleak to sight;
Yet one tiny Speck in all of the universe
Bursting with love and light, brighter than any star,
Has come to man.
Still was the air, Silent and nothing to hear;
Yet one tiny cry in all of the world found,
Ringing with joy and life, louder than any sound,
Any could hear.
Cry tiny Child cry,
You know far more than any could ever know.
Breathe tiny Child breathe,
The breath You created, before You came to be.
Warm was the breast, that nurtured You and gave You rest.
Yet one blessed soul in all of the Holy-land,
Birthed You in Bethlehem, word into flesh became,
God with us.
Bridge
Behold the wisemen they follow a star
Bringing gift From travel a far
Come and see Him, hear Him,
Touch His face and Worship Him
Strong is the man, that molded and crafted your hand.
Yet one little Boy would grow to be true and kind,
Filled with a love divine, beyond the ways of man,
As only One righteous can.
Grow little Boy grow,
You'll grow far more than we could ever know.
Live little Boy live
The love You created, before You came to be.
You touched their hearts, delivered them, set them apart.
Yet one pure Heart in all of the many of hearts,
Loving with greater love,
Than any man has ever loved,
You gave your life, broken and poured out in strife.
Yet unto the cross they came, watching you die that day,
Only one knowing, the joy of holding in arms
A Babe, came to save the world.
Cry lonely mother cry
you cried far more than any could ever know.
Live bless-ed Savior live,
Rise to the glory before You came to be
With us
In all that we celebrate, our joy.
He came to be
The Alpha Omega our life
He came to Be
