Kind of a Copeland-ish piece although I'm ashamed to compare myself to him..

Lyrics
I wrote this piece style of Aaron Copeland, although I really can't compare to him. As I wrote it I thought of the many wonderful times I spent out in the farmlands as a child with my grandparents. They lived in a small town and you had to get your groceries before the store closed at 6 o'clock. There were only 2 channels on the TV so we played a card game called Pitch. They lived a simple life yet I would call it uncommon because they lived for themselves and for their family. They didn't have a lot of money and they barely scraped by for the most part but they were by most accounts, happy. When I went to visit them, I watched the farmers tend their fields and it filled me with awe and wonder for the open frontier. I hope this song can explain some of the wonderful times I had visiting with my grandparents and the hope that someday I'll be able to say I'd lived a life uncommon.
