Deep and groovy song, even though it's a little sad.
Single young female R&B singer/poet/rapper
Yetta Brown is me...Robyn, and I mess with a bunch of different music styles. I sing, rap a little bit, and write a lot of lyrics. Trying to get into beat-making.

Story behind the song
Inspired by a certain someone. I composed the beat on FL4 and recorded my lyrics on the same old laptop with Cool Edit and my Best Buy handheld mic, so yes, the quality is crap. This was only recorded originally to give a fellow beat-maker an idea of how the song goes, along w/ an elementary version of this beat, to use as a model for creating a beat for me. That just never went down, so I tweaked it myself. At the end of the 2nd verse I sing too loudly into the mic: just my little self-criticism. Keep in mind it was a rough cut recording, and enjoy!
Lyrics
Colorblind by Yetta Brown (Chorus) Without you in my life is like a hueless dream The blue alludes the sky; the grass doesn't seem so green It's all in black and white: I need you to stay with me Don't leave me colorblind; I need you to perceive life's beauty When you leave the room, I lose sight of all the joy in life I try to smile, but there are times I can't even pretend Then like a prism of love Your rainbow fills me up Then you lead me to treasure on the other end CHORUS I opened my eyes and thought it was still night My vision's broken free from my sight I no longer see my future in front of me Cuz with you gone, I can only look behind But when you're near, I welcome the glare The way you shine, I can't help but stare Your resonation brightens life and makes me care so where- Ever you are I wanna be there, oh CHORUS With my head on the bed of your chest, I dream in tie-dye technicolor If you should leave, I'd be filled with regret; you give me vision like no other Usually all I'm thinkin' about is how the lonely girl needs a lover You around drowns the doubt, and from my eyes you remove the cover CHORUS
