This is Salmon Handy. The story of the musical phenomenon known as Salmon Handy began the summer of 1995 along the banks of Oswegachie River, at the New York State Ranger School in the Adirondacks. While playing his acoustic guitar on the front steps of the school, Andy Rabb heard Sam Berg playing the piano through the common room window. Forced with the choice of cruising timber or eating filet of cheese, playing music seemed the thing to do. The pair officially named themselves Salmon Handy in the attic of a house on Ackerman Street in Syracuse New York later that fall, playing such venues as their front porch and the basement of SUNY ESF. The two went electric the following year, as members of the inspirational blues based jam band Sweet Fancy Moses; featuring the musical talents of Bob King on Drums, Tony Lewis on Bass, and special guest Mike Montre playing Clapton Strat. The duo's debut album 'April Fools' was produced some time later, in the luxurious studio of the Berg residence in Newmarket, New Hampshire. While consuming multiple black and tans, tracks were created over weekends in April 2005 and April 2006. Featuring mostly original songs stemming from the rock/folk roots of the pair, as well as the down home country covers of 'Orphan Child', 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken', and 'Stealin'. 'Say it Loud', the band's second effort, was recorded in January 2007, also at the New Market Studio. This album features 4 original songs drawing from the duo's collective musical past, as well as a cover of the classic 'Hesitation Blues' Sam Berg: Mandolin, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Bass, ElectronicaDrum Programming, Vocals on 'Stealin' Andy Rabb: Vocals, Banjo, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Harmonica, Bass, Synthetic Keys
