Dawn is a country girl from Rural Alberta and has been writing songs for 15 years.
Hi I'm just a country girl from Alberta and I have always had a love for music and grew up listening to the Country Greats like Loretta Lynn, Lynn Anderson, Tammy Wynette, George Jones to name a few. My parents always had the music playing. My Dad also had some great 45's from the 50's and 60's and I still remember listening to Elvis and Buddy Holly . I have been writing songs for about 15 years now and I have found it to be a fun hobby. Now I enjoy the music of Leann Rimes, Celine Dion, Brooks & Dunn, Dixie Chicks, and Keith Urban to name a few.

Story behind the song
This song is dedicated to all the Grand-parents out there. It is inspired by my Grandpa Charlie. He died when I was 7 years old, but was a man of great character and he made a lasting impression on me even at that tender age. He would be 94 years old this November, if he was still alive today. I wrote this song with that in mind, it is about what I would tell him if he was here now. So I dedicate this song to the memory of a wonderful man and the best Grandpa a girl could ever have asked for.
Lyrics
WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME WHAT DO YOU SEE? © DAWN LEANNE CUTFORTH I’m listening to stories that my grand dad tells. When he was a boy running, wild in these hills. He says, its hard to believe, it’s eighty years ago. I could run like the wind, and now I move so slow. Sometimes I wish I , could go back in time. And you would not believe , what you could buy for a dime. My life must seem like, old history. And when you look at me now, just what do you see. CHORUS DO YOU JUST SEE AN OLD MAN WITH STORIES TO TELL. OR DO YOU I SEE AN OLD MAN, WHO LIVED HIS LIFE WELL. SOMEONE YOU RESPECT, AND WANT TO BE. IS THAT WHAT YOU SEE, WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME. I look at him now , there’s a tear in his eye. And I know what’s on his mind, and I start to cry. I told him grand dad, you are my hero. You are my best friend, but , there’s more you should know. The stories you tell, have taught you values to me. They make you who you are, and that’s who I want to be. Your life stories , they are your legacy. And when I look at you, I’ll tell you just what I see. CHORUS I DON’T JUST SEE AN OLD MAN WITH STORIES TO TELL. BUT I SEE A GREAT MAN, WHO LIVED HIS LIFE WELL. SOMEONE I RESPECT, WHO I WANT TO BE. WHEN I LOOK AT YOU, I HOPE, I SEE ME. I LOVE YOU GRAND DAD. First uploaded to soundclick October 3 2005
