It was February 14, 2001 when the band DIET OF WORMZ, composed of Kelvin "Kutz" Didelez and Joel”Ian" Sajo as lead vocals, “Daniel” Dennis Sarrosa as lead guitar, “Melvon” posadas on rhythm guitar, “Jerson” Soledad on bass and Mark "Makoy" Abaygar on drums, started joining amateur competitions and gigs in almost all rock events in Iloilo City. Together, they produce a sound, which continues to resonate our senses with upbeat and edgy tunes. Before the band became known as “Diet of Womrz”, the band members played different sub-genres of metal/rock music. Kutz, Joel, Daniel and Melvon, all of whom came from the same province of Barotc Nuevo Iloilo were highly influenced by the underground resonance of doom, hardcore and industrial music. On the latter part, they came to know Makoy and Jerson, two highly competent and qualified individuals to suit their hungry urge for playing music, thus gave birth to the band who continues the pound the stages of the developing Iloilo rock/metal scene. They started writing their own tunes describing it as industrial mixed with the new core underground assault. Lately they were discovered and labeled as the top industrial band in Iloilo City, their song “Run for your life” became an anthem in their own little way. In September 2003, they were MUZIKLABAN finalists which gave pride to the visayas region.The desirable outcome of hardworking, effort and determination of the band has gone through far because of the achievements that the band attained. August 2004 they signed with DEADSTRING RECORDS, an independent label based in Iloilo City and started to record their five-cut debut EP, entitled “In Resurrection of Silence”. December 2004
