Story behind the song
A Russian pastor and his wife were visiting the USA as guests of our pastor in 2000. While here, she lost their first baby. It was so difficult for them to grieve among strangers, but I knew God was no stranger to them. This song resurfaced last year when my sister's husband went to be with the Lord.
Lyrics
Losing is hard. You cry out in questions that no one can answer, Though everyone's guessing; While I whisper the truth to your heart. Can you trust Me? Is it so hard, when I formed you in My hand? I set your heart beating, I counted your steps, I listen to your breathing. Though you think you are alone, your tears, they are My very own. This, too, is in My hand, though My love you may not understand. Your tears are precious to Me. I counted them all, every one, on Calvary. I am the Weaver, My tapestry looming. You can't see my fingers patiently working; You see the tangled ends of string, but from here I see a beautiful thing. The pattern is changing, new things beginning. This thread must end, though your heart is breaking: I know how high the price to weave in you the image of Christ. This, too, is in My hand, though My love you may not understand. Your tears are precious to Me. I counted them all, every one, on Calvary.
