Story behind the song
I had came up with an idea that i let Ken hear and he came up with a cracking piece of music for it but it just wasn't sitting right so i had to come up with some more lyrics as i thought Kens music was the one thing that didn't need changed. So I started thinking back to the first night I met Helen. We had had an amazing night together and then it was time for her to go. As the taxi drove her away I remember thinking I probably wouldn't see her again. ("I watched you leave as you had to go") but i must have done something right for that was more than 10 years ago plus two kids and a mortgage! Love her to bits...always have,always will ....Jim The song actually grew out of an idea from Jim and it became clear that it wasn't quite working. The idea was scrapped but the music was still there so this song basically came from the ashes of the original idea. Simple song structure and chord wise but I tried to get the guitar to compliment the vocals and accent the spaces in between. I also think that the song has a feel of our earlier material. ... Ken
