Story behind the song
It's an ego-driven world we live in, and it's killing us.
Lyrics
HUMBLE YOURSELF Humble yourself In the sight Of the Lord, And He shall Lift you up. You reach too high, Fall to the ground. You start to cry, No one around. You want much more, And you get less. Wolf at the door, No one to bless. All those big shoes Stepping on you. You’re black and blue; Your heart is too. Humble yourself In the sight Of the Lord, And He shall Lift you up. Wrapped up in dreams That unravel, It’s a hard road That you travel. One more detour - The bridge is out. One thing for sure, You live in doubt. No light ahead, Darkness behind. Pain in your head Driving you blind. Humble yourself In the sight Of the Lord, And He shall Lift you up. You try and fail Far too often. Another nail In your coffin. The end is near; You’re out of time. No need to fear The finish line. You still have breath, Still in the game. Before your death, Pray in His Name. Humble yourself In the sight Of the Lord, And He shall Lift you up. Humble yourself In the sight Of the Lord, And He shall Lift you up. Copyright © 2004 Lex Zaleta
