The song is based on a guitar conversation between the old guitar (the Jag) playing in the old delta slide style, and the new Strat playing in the more contemporary style of today.

Story behind the song
I was looking at my Christmas tree one night, my guitars reflecting the blue lights in the dark. I thought about the Nutcracker story. You know the tale where at midnight, when everybody in the house is asleep, the toys come to life? After too much eggnog, I could imagine my old 1964 Fender Jaguar waking up first and starting a conversation with my new Fender Strat. In guitar talk in the language of music, telling the new kid on the block how things were back in the good old days. The song is based on a guitar conversation between the old guitar (the Jag) playing in the old delta slide style, and the new Strat playing in the more contemporary style of today. I added the record static, for all of us who love old records from the 1960s, daring the opening bars of the song. The crisp, clean sound of todays digital recording, sounds somehow sterile, cold and impersonal. I like my music with the all of the pops and cracks sometimes. I named the song Jagpaw, tell me about the good old days. If any of you ever wanted to hear a vintage Jag played next to a new Strat, this is your chance.
