Dogs in the Park

we've injected a bit of funk (bit of 'shaft' vibes) into this to give it a bit more edge, attitude...we hide in the corners and see in the dark...watching way too much UK cop shows...lol!
power pop synth schneider
some people get by with a little understanding, some people get by with a whole lot more..
Think back to when Bon Scott played his last gig with AC/DC (it’s actually this day 27.01) back in 1980 before he would succumb to an untimely death due to misadventure and remember how the world seemed less complicated and more focussed on serious issues as opposed to Tik Tok or Instagram and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools. Michael Keaton in a scene from 'Birdman' is here due to his brilliant acting abilities as well as the late great John Belushi...dig Mike & John, supreme talents for sure! can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll...

Story behind the song
new synth power pop track from myself and Bruce for 2026, been watching a lot of 'slow horses' lately (Gary Oldman's hit UK show about Mi5 and the goings on behind the scenes of some serious spy action on the streets of London...) it's good! The Park (in this fictional instance) is the nickname for Mi5 HQ and Gary Oldman heads up a small band of 'misfits' who have been banished to Slough House as punishment for either bungling up an Mi5 mission or simply because they're been deemed as not Mi5 'spy' material (even though they are technically Mi5 agents - they're seen by the Park as embarrassments) The Dogs are the internal security unit and they're utterly ruthless - they make messes where there needs to be a mess and they clean up if there's cleaning up ordered (spill in aisle four, lol!) Best episode is a shootout in some dilapidated industrial warehouse, a great degree of carnage and humiliation this time for the dogs. When did TV get better than the movies, sort of crept up on us this century for sure...'Landman' is also a fave but not sure there's a song in it, lol!
Lyrics
You hide in the corner And see in the dark You rallied your believers To sleep in the park You’re a world gone mad And you like to fool Fools on high dishin’ it out to you Breathe...no let it go Breathe...all that show You gotta let it go That time when you didn’t see Well you didn’t seem? You took your time to stand in line Well you didn’t wanna be seen...no You stray from the light And deliver yourself You shut it all down Just to lock us out You’re a well-run race Who likes to win You can’t out last a broken past That time you didn’t see Well you didn’t seem? You took your time to let it go Cause ya didn’t want to be seen, oh oh ...you’re alone with your justice Go on, pick it up, yeah You gotta run, run like a, like a dog ...a scent, a taste for that, you gotta run babe You gotta run like hell Don’t you be caught on the street tonight Yeah you better hide babe They come on They come looking for you, that's right... That time you didn’t see Well you didn’t seem? Well you didn’t seem? That time you didn’t see Yeah, you better hide...

I really want to watch the show this is based on. Definitely my style. Couldn’t even imagine how to start something like this. Very creative. Suits the subject so well. Very good.

Oh yeah, I'm enjoying this. The insistent funky drive really moves it along at a pace. There's a nice sense of danger and excitement. Brilliant.

Really funny as only yesterday I was watching a video on instagram of Isaac conducting a full orchestra in a studio performing shaft. With your vocals over the shaft influence it really works. Love it. Excellent piece of music.
