Christ centered songs written by Dan Simmons...the best Gospel and inspirational A.I. music on the internet!
"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. This website will be a sampling of recordings that I, along with family and friends, have done over past 45 years. There are over 600 original unpublished songs presented in demo form on this site. Special thanks go to my partners in music, my daughter Amber, son Ian and the guys of Single Heart (Gene, Bob, Chris, Marty and Tata) who joined me to sing praises to the Lord down through the years. I also wish to thank those co-writers and artists that have joined with me in developing new music the passed few years to share on this website. I'm now featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) groups that I've developed to sing some of the songs. I hope it's evident to everyone... that though the melodies and harmonies, styles and singers may change... JESUS has always been and will always be...the Song! ...this music is one simple expression of a very thankful heart. (Dan is a retired firefighter and ordained minister)

Story behind the song
Inspired by the poem "When I'm Found" written by my good friend Bob Severin...I used some of Bob's lyrics, added some of my own and changed the direction a bit toward "Home"
Lyrics
Like a stream that wanders endlessly Across the prairie land I never had a place to rest Or a home to take a stand My life was like a journey down along and dusty road And I've fallen all too often Beneath a weary load (chorus) Home...Home Oh...I'm longing for a home Where I can rest and hang my hat And never be alone...at home If I could only find a way To have a place to call my own I know that it would change my life And I wouldn't feel alone I'm givin' up my waywardness Cause I know that I've been lost I've traveled down this lonely road And my life is what it cost Home...Home Oh...I'm longing for a home Where I can rest and hang my hat And never be alone... Home...Home Oh I'm yearning for a place Where I can rest kick off my boots And see a loving face Home...Home Oh...I'm longing for a home Where I can rest and hang my hat And never be alone... Home...Home Oh I'm yearning for a place Where I can rest kick off my boots And see a loving face Oooh...there's just no place like a home
