If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Lyrics
Look Again “When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home. it was believed that he had nothing left of any value. Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this handwritten poem.” When you look at me do you see an old, old broken man? Slipping away like hour Glass sand Well there is more than here Than just a wasted shell For when I look in the mirror I see someone else Look again (Look again) look again (look again) Cuz that’s not who I am I see a small child of 6 with a proud father and mother, who kiss him good night and eve night and tuck him deep under the covers I see a young boy of Sixteen who just barely made the team but in his mind he’s the greatest player the worlds ever seen I see a groom of Twenty-five whose heart skips a beat. Trying to remembering, the vows the preacher just asks him to repeat. I see a man of Twenty seven, in the delivery room holding his beautiful wife’s hand knowing their lives will change soon. When you look at me do you see an old, old broken man? Slipping away like hour Glass sand Well there is more than here Than just a wasted shell For when I look in the mirror I see someone else Look again (Look again) look again (look again) Cuz that’s not who I am I see A man of forty with kids in school growing up so fast He wont let go when he hugs them, because he wants this time it to last. I see a man of fifty, whose daughter’s in a white gowns And he cries in the aisle as he slowly walks her down. I see a man of fifty five, once more with babies to cherish Grandchildren to spoil and then send back to their parents. I see a man of 75 who becomes a retire So that he can spend more time working on his true legacy Now I’m 94 and no longer have my wife with me My health is failing and my savior soon will be coming to get me. But inside this old carcass a young guy still lives And I thank God for the blessings of each day he gives With every beat of my heart I remember the joys and the pain. And in my mind I’m living and loving my life over again. So open your eyes, people . . . . . open them and see. Not a broken old man . . . Look closer . .. . see ME!! Look again (Look again) look again (look again) Cuz that’s not who I am Words by Joseph Johnson Music by TellingBeatzz Based off a poem of an unknown author 4- 16-2017
