Just another singer/songwriter. I play all my own instruments (except drums) and record on a Boss BR1200CD standalone multi-track recorder
Just an old Back To The Land hippie that stuck to his plan.

Story behind the song
"I'll Fly Away" was written by Albert Brumley in 1929 and is possibly the most recorded gospel song ever. It gained popularity again recently when it was performed by Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch in the 2000 film, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou". More Hx: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I'll_Fly_Away
Lyrics
Some bright morning when this life is over I'll fly away To that home on a misty spirit shore I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh glory I'll fly away in the morning When I die, Hallelujah by and by I'll fly away When the shadows of this life have gone I'll fly away Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh glory I'll fly away in the morning When I die, Hallelujah by and by I'll fly away Oh, how glad and happy when we meet I'll fly away No more cold iron shackles on my feet I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh glory I'll fly away in the morning When I die, Hallelujah by and by I'll fly away

Anoher great rendition my friend Charlie!! I love how you put your banjo and guitar in scene!! So clean, cristal clear sound, you vocals ( included back ground ) are hitting the nail on the meaning/expression needed for this gospel. You have a particular touch to bring me immediately into your music world, fascinating!! Just keep going on Charlie, cheers to the music! -Spin-

Sitting up here in the mountains, a little lonesome for some bluegrass. Listening to this is just like being surrounded by friends at a bluegrass pickin' party. Mountain music at it's finest. Bravo!!!
I like the smoothness of your version, Charlie. Cool, soothing, and wonderfully sung with a great balance in the arrangement.

Ah yes! The sounds of Appalachia. Your take on this little gem does the lyrics so well. Guitar and banjo blending together perfectly. Oh yes, mighty fine vocal harmonizing as well. Well put together Charlie. Enjoyed it!
