I wish you would be careful in the darkness. Man, you haven't even got a clue. You don't know what could happen near the water late at night to you.

I'm a fifty nine year old musician. I play guitar, harmonica, and I sing.
My music, I hope, will not die when I die. I'm trying to create a legacy that my kids can listen to as well as other people should they want to. I'm getting pretty old, and my health is not good. But yeah. That about sums up my music thing. That looks more like an obituary. My brother Jimmy got me playing as a teenager, and he went to be with the Lord, as well as my brother Steve, but my love for music has not ceased. Not at all.

Story behind the song
---Sometimes you re-connect with someone you didn't even realize you had grown away from... Sometimes I have to listen, and listen better. ---That's what happens to the guy in this song; he and his wife had become distant, and it takes someone dying for him to see how precious his love is.
Lyrics
Fat man carrying a briefcase, it's handcuffed to his only hand Short guy in the shadows, trying not to understand Some girl's listening to the fat man's bug, trying to discifer One guy's noise from the other; one guy's voice from the other Downtown at the barracks, old retired Fred feels lazy And they wonder why he's hanging 'round, everybody thinks he's crazy But Freddy knows his wife's temper, even after menapause And he's not into sorting through her fists, and her finger-claws I WISH YOU WOULD BE CAREFUL IN THE DARKNESS! -. Man, you haven't even got a clue. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN near THE WATER LATE AT NIGHT TO YOU. Red flare at the river's edge, the fat dude's walking by Short guy comes attacking him, a mad look in his eye Fred picks up the call downtown, in a minute he's on his way "This definitely beats the boredom", he mutters to the birds of prey All hell breaks loose before Fred gets there, and no-one's surprized at that He's seen the passion that life has to offer, and the opposite of that Remembering a lesson from the force, he stops to load the child He shows up to a bloody scene, and pukes up coffee and bile I WISH YOU WOULD BE CAREFUL IN THE DARKNESS! - Man, you haven't even got a clue. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN near THE WATER LATE AT NIGHT TO YOU. One handed man has trouble picking his weapon up off the ground He invites an owl that's lost out there to turn his head around The reader sees a story, characters, and a message moot Retired Fred pushes the short guy, turns him over, with his boot The next night, Freddy stays home, and the T.V. doesn't even come on Music flows into the moonless night, and Fred listens to her sob The city sleeps - except the whores, the partiers, and such But Fred holds to his wife until she stops, he cares for her that much I WISH YOU WOULD BE CAREFUL IN THE DARKNESS! - Man, you haven't even got a clue. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN near THE WATER LATE AT NIGHT TO YOU.
