If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Story behind the song
Wrote this song 14 years ago. Dusted it off, because no one had heard it in many many years.
Lyrics
Do Lord, Do Lord, Do remember me. When I’m standing alone before your throne, I want to hear you say, “Welcome home.” Do Lord, Do Lord, Do remember me. When I’m standing alone before your throne, I want to hear you say, “Welcome home.” Do Lord remember when I’m at the pearly gates standing before you as you decide my fate LORD, don’t remember all my sins How I lied to my folks and betrayed my friends A prodigal son, just having fun is what I use to be Never taking the time to think about eternity A life of sin is where I dwelt On a dead end road headed straight for hell Never thinking about the consequence, Heck it didn’t even have to make sense Do what feels good was my pretense, now Here I am trying to repent. But here I am now tore up and trying to repent. Sayining LORD, You open the book of life with a golden pen And I’m hoping and praying my name is writ within I’m trying to think of all my good works to pull out the bag But then I’m reminded the Bible says our works like filthy rags In my life done more good than bad, but it aint enough Can’t try to buy my way into heaven. Because it cost too much Lord, You said heaven rested on one thing alone you say “I remember you gave me your heart, now welcome home” “Do Lord Remember me.” I’m not the first cry It was said by the thief on Jesus’ side being crucified “My life is wrong, and I deserve this death sentence But Jesus is innocence” he cried in repentance But the crowd wouldn’t listen their hearts were cold And they spat on the master though he died for their souls. “Do Lord Remember me up in heaven,” the thief cried to Christ And Jesus said “Today you’ll be with me in paradise” Don’t forget me just remember me. Don’t forget me just remember me. Joseph Johnson 11-11-99 Music by Quit N Play Beats
