20 years deep in the craft - raw bars, real stories, and soul-driven hip-hop straight from the hills of West Virginia
I’m an underground rapper from Morgantown, WV, and I’ve been rapping, writing, and producing albums for over 20 years. My name’s a throwback to hip-hop’s roots when "def" meant excellent and an MC was more than just a rapper; he was a storyteller and a presence. My sound draws inspiration from East Coast artists like Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, and Lupe Fiasco. At the end of the day, I’m just here to make meaningful music that cuts through the noise and tells my story.

Lyrics
[Intro] This song really hits home for me In Summer 2009, I found out my biological dad Scott passed away He drowned in a pond about 5 miles from where I grew up On Route 7 My dad John raised me up, so I took his last name But still I regret never knowing a man I'll never get to meet again [Verse 1] Last time I seen you was the second grade Now I'm standing here pouring liquor on your grave Mmm, Crown has an aftertaste Let me wipe the grass clippings here from your name There we go, it's shiny now, looking great And why I came? I have stuff I need to say First of all, it's okay, you made mistakes Mine was waiting 'til I guess it was too late You ain't going anywhere for a while, right? Bad joke, for real, I stayed up all night Thinkin' 'bout all the things that I've been told No one says the same thing, so it's getting old The truth is, the truth died when you did I will never know you like none of them did But - I know you would feel this The same way that you felt me on that first disc [Chorus] Keep it on going, flowing, like rain Life is a pattern, a fractal, a big maze The lives that we live are twisted in weird ways So it happens for a reason, believe it to this day We keep it on going, flowing, like rain Life is a pattern, a fractal, a big maze The lives that we live are twisted in weird ways So it happens for a reason, believe it to this day [Verse 2] Met my sis on a chilly day last spring Chyanna doing really good, now she's 16 She got her learner's too, God help the DMV I'm just kidding, sis is back on her feet But Ang and Di, I haven't yet got to see I hope one day we can all get to meet I seen pics though, they as cute as can be Now the big news, something that you won't believe Tiff is pregnant, she's due in a couple weeks That's a brand new branch to the family tree Here's a shot, one for you, one for me To the future, my wife, and my new seed We gone name her Molly Jane And if I have my way, then you know she gonna sing But only if she want to That's my lifeblood, nothing that I wouldn't do [Chorus] [Verse 3] It's getting chilly, I think it's gonna rain soon The wind is blowing at the flowers that I brought you But I don't wanna leave, I wanna see it through And tell you all the things that brought me here to see you I hold down three jobs, and I bank two The last saved up to buy stuff for Molly's room Baby shoes, diapers, or baby food The same workload got me in a stressed mood I only have a couple more years left of school And I will persevere, I know I'll make it through It's not often that I say it, but I've felt used Not just by my friends, by my fam, too But I'll leave you on a good note, auto-tune My Route 7 album is coming really soon And when I drop it, I have a copy here for you Track 6, the realest thing I'll ever do [Chorus]
