Story behind the song
Sandy Ramos, a celebrated songwriter, had a cool promotion in June 2013 where she brought on a big time producer and friend, Ted Hewitt, to critique songs. Ted was looking for songs for Rodney Atkins and I wrote this song with him in mind. His previous hits are "He's Mine", "These Are My People", and many others. Sandy let all us songwriters know that Ted and Rodney were looking for mid to up-tempo with a positive message and this song, Bring It On, was my answer. It's the 1st song I've written in a long time that has got me looking forward to the future. Bring It On!!!
Lyrics
Bring It On
I’ve traveled a road so dusty I ended up lost
Drove it till the sun went down now I know the cost
I’m ready to let go of the past I’ve opened up my heart
Washed all the dirt of my truck and got a brand new start
Bring It On
Something good’s gonna happen
Bring It On
I’m wearing my best blue jeans got a smile on my face
It’s been a while since I stepped out I'm gonna pick her up at eight
I pull up to the front porch beads of sweat on my brow
With a two step bounce she runs through the door and says, “I’m ready now”
Bring It On
Something good’s gonna happen
Bring It On
She’s got my blood a pumping
Change is a coming
Bring it On
SOLO
Driving down the boulevard neon lights everywhere
She’s looking at me laser-like so much energy in the air
We don’t need to stop, we don’t need anyone
We’re gonna keep this train-a-rollin tonight until the morning comes
Bring It On
Something good’s gonna happen
Bring It On
We got our blood a pumping
Change is a coming
Bring it On
Change is a coming
Bring it On
Change is a coming
Bring it On
Bring it, yeh Bring it, c’mon Bring it, Bring it On
Bring It, Bring it On - REPEAT
