The Lost Maples is a Nashville based country music act that plays songs in the tradition of Robert Earl Keen, Waylon Jennings, Billy Joe Shaver and Townes Van Zandt combined with modern Americana underpinnings with tastes of folk, rhythm and blues and jazz. Coming from different states, none of the Lost Maples hale from Canada; rather the band has taken its name from the state park in south Texas. Formed in 2011 by Willie Guy Arnot, the Lost Maples have really hit the ground running, keeping a busy schedule between recording and gigging. Their original songs are predicated on big lead vocals with multiple part harmonies and sing along choruses. Schooled musicians who take pride in dynamics, arrangements and musical subtleties back these songs. In the course of the last year the Lost Maples have been fortunate enough to play shows with the likes of Sheryl Crow, Viktor Krauss with Jerry Douglas, and Johnny Neel. Their first EP was released in June of 2012 and a follow up release is almost complete. Mercy Lounge in Nashville has stated that the Lost Maples are “amazing singer-songwriters” and “great Americana music.”
