There's a song I uploaded for the Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra MP3-Album "PsycheCosmicFunkaDelix" (2009) called "Meddlin' With Chemicals, Man!". Well--THAT was a REMIX. Here's the REAL (1984) DEAL!! (And, it's OPEN for Collabs!!)

An Experimental Project (Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra), and a Loose Funky Jammer (OSMOSIS). 2 separate sides, the very same dude.
Hello. Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra/OSMOSIS is actually a One-Man Home Recording Project that has been my 'stress relief' (ha ha!), since about MAY, 1981. I'm from that first wave of DIY Cassette-Tapers ('analog'--and PROUD OF IT!). Hell, the majority of my material between '81 and '99 was done on the earliest large-model Casio Synthesizers (the MT-68, MT-400-V and MT-200), with a Yamaha thrown into the mix (on occasion). Recently, I've started posting my material on the web (after transfering it from cassette-tape to digital disc, and then to MP3---a very hard process, considering the AGE of some of the tapes). It was in these past 2 1/2 years on the web that I discovered that, despite the ridicule you're going to get, there IS an Audience for your music--no matter how different it is. I've been telling some of my friends and peers for years to NEVER get rid of ANY of their recordings, no matter how 'crappy' you were (of think you were), because having a 'Back Catalog' is a damn good thing. You MAY have been sitting on some GEMS, and not even know it. And, when I discovered that a 21-year-old jam I posted on MySpace recently ROCKED a lot of folks as far away as SCOTLAND and AFRICA (!), I felt pumped. It means that this was a 'dream' that came thru in the end.

Story behind the song
This is the original version of the track a lot of folks know as "Meddlin' With Chemicals, Man!"--sonically updated after sitting on a cassette master for close to 30 years. "Meddle With It" was part of a whole mess of unused sessions for a pair of album projects called "Strange Chambers" and "The Scarlet Rains Of Galaxia Minor"--both recorded around mid-1984. (The only REAL track from those sessions uploaded here on Soundclick is "Kabuki [Oriental Funk]".) The only thing stopping me from uploading the rest of the project was the lack of a decent means of Cassette-to-MP3 Transfer (without having to go thru a CD-R, first). Well, finally found one (had to make repeated trips to Radio Shack to find what cords to use on a decent Cassette Deck). Of course, since most of the original sessions were either in MONO Mixdown, or Divided-Track Stereo (on it's way to a Mono conversion), I had to play around with my Audacity Program to update it into a passable stereo-like sound and digital-compatiblity. THIS is the result. "MEDDLE WITH IT" was recorded in my bedroom, sparsely furnished, to give it a 'concert hall' reverb. It was done using my original Bass Guitar (a pawn shop knock-off responsible for the whole of the "FUNKENDECTOMY " album!!), and--no, I'm NOT kidding--a homemade 12-watt guitar amp (just a box with a 12-watt speaker!). As for the Casio percussion; that was done by shooting my (then-new) MT-68 thru my large 4-speaker Bass-Amp. The reason the smaller amp was used for the Bass was so that I can produce a sorta Heavy-Metal sound without a distortion pedal. At the same time, I was tapping the Fill-In button on the Casio Percussion while I was playing the Bass. So, you can say that--YEAH!!--87% of "MEDDLE WITH IT" is LIVE!! The other 13% (the keyboards) was dubbed in after the basic session, and thereby was buried in the final Mono Mixdown. There are NO Vocals, just one man sounding like a three-piece band. -Lawrence Wise (a.k.a. OSMOSIS) Sunday, February 10, 2013
