Story behind the song

Dedicated to the students killed May 4, 1970 by The Ohio National Guard.. Killed were Jeffrey Miller, who had been throwing rocks and insults. They killed Allison Krause, who, a day earlier, slid a blossom into a guardsman's rifle barrel and told him, "flowers are better than bullets." They killed Sandra Lee Scheuer, a speech therapy student crossing campus after classes were canceled. They killed William Knox Schroeder, a former Eagle Scout and ROTC member.. A "rough" recording done on a 4Track Recorder a long time ago in a galaxy far away....  Perhaps to be enhanced someday..  I still sing this song sometimes at coffee houses  where it's been well received..

Laurel Krause, sister of Allison Krause who was killed at Kent State has worked for years to get the truth of the massacre out, likes this song..
