Lyrics
'The Ballad of Tommy Boon'
Mum and dad I'm fine up here, this is my resting place
I got lots of friends around and butterflies to chase
Smudge is here and Nelson too and General's by my side
Don't you worry none about us, dry those tears you cried
I hope you're taking care of yourselves like I took care of you
It's no good looking back you know cos you've all got things to do
Dad's my hero, mum's my friend, my family was the best
Now think of me with a smile and know I'm your angel boy at rest
Cos I'm a truckers dog at the rainbow bridge, racing across the sky
Chasing everything I see with a twinkle in my eye
I know you did everything you could and you gave me a real good life
Now I'm rolling around in the meadow grass without a care in the warm sunlight
So don't you cry now mama, little Tommy Boon is alright.
Weekend's were so fun for me when dad came trucking home
Mum and me were waiting, I'd get treats n' hugs and bones
I'd follow dad everywhere he went and stay close by his side
You know I was a country dog and my family was my pride
Uncle Nigel used to call along and spoil me with some treats
And Diesel was my playmate and there was Magsie and DG
You could say I had everything and my Lenny the lion too
I pulled him apart and mum would sew him up and make him look as good as new!
Now I'm a truckers dog at the rainbow bridge, racing across the sky
Chasing everything I see with a twinkle in my eye
I know you did everything you could and you gave me a real good life
I'm rolling around in the meadow grass without a care in the warm sunlight
So don't you cry now mama, little Tommy Boon is alright.
So don't you cry now mama, your little Tommy Boon is alright.
