My own version of a song by The Byrds. It has a nice 'psychedelic section' between the vocal verses and then again in the ending section.
retro guitar based psyche

An 'Invisible Band' project.
This is a Major Snagg / Big Sleep 'side project', to create and record mostly high power psychedelic type of material (covers and originals). . . Full Tilt Psychedelia . Just as XTC briefly became The Dukes of Stratosfear, so have Tony and myself become The Lykes of Wytch . . . but probably only briefly . . . well maybe not !

Story behind the song
I've always liked this slightly obscure 'Psychedelic/Country', song by The Byrds, which is hidden in the Easy Rider movie soundtrack. I was very surprised to discover that it wasn't a Byrds original, but was actually written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King ! there's a revelation ! I thought that it would fit in nicely into The Lykes Of Wytch project. I don't think that I've strayed too far away from my original 'brief' and into 'Americana' here. I've used my Yamaha APX-4A acoustic guitar (miked up), Parker Fly electric guitar and Rickenbacker 4003 bass.

Cool trip down memory lane whilst listening to your version of this old favorite, David. Bonus points for the cool vocals/harmonies. Nice!!!

Great choice, your guitar work really shimmers, what a sound, the lead work as well. Excellent vocals as always, dynamite harmonies, beautifully mixed textures, hip and happenin' psychedelic era goodness!

Never heard this one before so not familiar with the original. I like this, it really shows your versatility. Superb vocals and harmonies, great job on the psychedelic bit.

I remember this was one of the first phase shifting tunes I ever heard. Real cool version of a classic!

I remember this one :D A punchier driving version of a great, but slightly obscure, tune from the great Easy Rider 1969 soundtrack :D Really nice rework David, you've made this one your own!
