Rough mix of a new instrumental metal song. Very traditional and old school-inspired.

Story behind the song
Rough mix of a new song. I'm pretty amazed at how heavy a tone I was able to get out of the Vox Valvetronix VT20+. All guitar work was done on my Epiphone Les Paul Nightfall with tge VT20+, lined out directly to my sound card. For the rhythm track I used the US Metal (Green mode) model, which is supposedly a model of a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier, with a touch of the Tube Overdrive stomp box effect, mostly to square off the low end. For the lead work I used UK Rock (Red mode) which is a model of a Marshall Plexi. I maxed the gain, added the Tube Overdrive and drove the hell out of it, resulting in what I think is a nice, smooth lead tone. The riff is inspired by Dave Mustaine and Megadeth. It was slightly altered here for simplicity's sake (I was tapping out the bass line on my laptop keyboard!), but fortunately not much, really. I really like the Iron Maiden-esque guitar harmonies toward the end. The solo was improvised, and I honestly didn't think I would get a decent one in because after all the takes laying down the bass line and rhythm and harmony tracks, my fingers were done! After a number of attempts I managed to hang in there and lay down a winner. Enjoy and thanks for listening.
