Originally for Flute and Piano, this recording from 2004 substitutes the Violin for the Flute. This is movement #4.
classical
While somewhat eclectic in my styles that I listen to, I tend to be influence by romantic composers as well as modern choral composers such as Eric Whitacre.

Story behind the song
Why "Passages of Time"? Because I was young & naive and surprised that "The Four Seasons" had already been taken as a title. I have played this suite several times in performance. There are many markings that I have not included that I will let the musicians discover for themselves. So why "Passages of Time"? because this does is some small way echo the joy and the longing and the ache of time that has already slipped away into the eternity behind us. Yet there is the hope of a bright tomorrow. Go to Kistner und Seigel's web page to buy the music: http://tinyurl.com/benning-passages
