Story behind the song
I was born in California and lived right by Azusa Street. During the 1910s, an enormous revival of Pentecostalism led by a William J. Seymour. Even though I'm not religious I loved reading about it and going there and running my hands along the old mission.
When I moved away in my teenage years one of the last things I saw in California was an evidently deeply religious man standing alone, with a sign saying "Azusa Street Lives." Hence, the title of the song.
