Moments of driving guitar, moments of intricate rhythm, intelligent songs with a twist.
It's been a long time, but keep an eye open for 6 new tracks coming soon! And so, on with the blurb... Raised in the musical school of hard knocks that is the Newcastle upon Tyne “gig scene”, Columbus Dixon’s characteristic driving guitar sound works around an intricate, yet massive-sounding rhythm section. Musically, edgy and powerful, the songs are based on a strong, melodic approach. Lyrically insightful, fiercely independant, Columbus Dixon are an alternative to the current British fixation with mindless, shrink-wrapped, pre-packed, McPop cover merchants and whiney Nu-Angst pretenders. Live, Columbus Dixon are an intriguing and captivating experience, who pull no punches with a potent yet amiable presence. We don’t claim to be the saviours of the universe but we could save you from the Top 40. We make the music we like, and we do it well. We are a bunch of nice blokes, but we are good, though. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we are good. Is it sinking in? Good blokes, good music.

Lyrics
We've never met but I hate you A venom to my bones If I could crush you I would do But your infection has grown It's exponential; it's out of control Once full of life now I'm bleeding Another wall brought down Your handy work is all around But nature should have cut you out Your sickness is feeding, breeding, hate ‘Cause no-one’s Safe From the crawling human cancer Of violent demeanour And the impotence of my anger Of the death of things that matter What’s the matter? This thing is omnipresent Something you cannot be The gut-wrenching frustration Of wanting to be A guardian of all beauty If you could just get your hands on And strangle this Watch it writhe within your grip See its face, the smugness slip See its eyes go wild, bury all your fear ‘Cause no-one’s Safe From the crawling human cancer Of violent demeanour And the impotence of my anger Of the death of things that matter What’s the matter?
