Story behind the song
Whats happening in Wisconsin is the tip of the iceberg. Trickle down economics is what is ripping apart the fabric of American Society. Since its inception, American Society has simply suffered one defeat after another in terms of the economy for its people. If people get really really rich a lot of people have to suffer. Period. And its not just paying the deficit. Its all about taking away real voice in Government as were are seeing in Wisconsin.
Lyrics
Reagan got the trickle down Clinton got the head The rich they eat their money cake WHile the poor they've not been fed. Mama's got the babycrying Daddys in the gin And Reagan got the trickle down And clintons got the chin. Now Mama Told Papa Oh please give me a son And pappa said to Moma Ill git whats got to git done. aint it crazy aint it crazy aint it crazy one day keep on rubbing on that thing. 2 elephants from Oliphant And a southbound baptist preacher Trashed and robbed the Sunday school Then they killed the teacher. Caught stretched out int he stall Their legs all in a fit were eating up their manhood And the national defecit. Now Mama Told Papa Oh please give me a son And pappa said to Moma Ill git whats got to git done. aint it crazy aint it crazy aint it crazy one day keep on rubbing on that thing. Now I went out to party The room was all full of Tea All the millionaires there were preaching Said son in the land of the free You got to take out the crosshair You got to lock and load and make them pay their own blood debt like those square heads did of old. Oh Mama Told Papa Oh please give me a son And pappa said to Moma Ill git what got to git done. aint it crazy aint it crazy aint it crazy one day keep on rubbing on that thing. Now Georgie Porgie pudding and bush You all know what he said That bed time for bonzo guy Hes gone right out of his head. His trickle down drippy drops Will be the end I do declare We'll all b e working overseas In Chinese underwear. Now Mama Told Papa Oh please give me a son And pappa said to Moma Ill do what got to be done. aint it crazy aint it crazy aint it crazy one day keep on rubbing on that thing.

Hi Roger, Thought I commented on this one. Did you delete my comments??? LOL! Well anyway glad to see bush and reagan are being blamed again. Not a mention of Barry O who is turning our military secrets over to the Chinese for free and waging war on American business. Well believe it or not I agree with some of this. The turnover of our economy to the Chinese goes all the way back to Nixon with that elilte globalist Kissinger. He was/is part of the new World order along with your buddy George Soros. The Republicans and the Democratic hero (Coincidentally morally bankrupt) Bill Clinton embraced NAFTA that huge sucking sound going to mexico of jobs lost. All these practices and people have brought us to our present condition. And if you want to simplify it you can say the Democrats prop up the 49 percent who dont work and are continually wanting illegals made legal to vote for democrats and more handouts. Republicans from your view (since you dont believe in

The working man's wisdom, the plain truth, often overlooked by the misinformed and "elite". My favorite artist on here, such wit and eloquence!

I totally agree with a lot of the comments, especially with Pine's about the disappearance of the middle class which has been acting as a buffer. I see a lot of trouble ahead, you see it in the Arab countries now, people crying for a better life. Great song Roger, I can write forever on this topic, "slightly tainted world??" Keep up the good work, you're our new Dylan.

The Poet strikes again! This song will probably tick alot of folks off Rodger...but i won't be one of them. If and when the middle class disappears, there will be anarchy...because depserate people do desperate things...and anarchy sucks....and i hope it nevr comes to that. Unions were needed and well intended when created but now have become part of the problem and need to wake up, smell the coffee, and be open to compromise. USA is in deep do-do and needs an overhaul TOP to BOTTOM. Great song that tells it like it is. Keep at it man...you're on a roll! Pine
What a GREAT song, Roger!!!!! Your lyrics are right on, and vocal delivery is excellent. I love songs like this with a message that many many need and appreciate by the looks of this song's high charting - and ratings on this comment page.

Brilliant lyrics!! A very clever, well written song that really sums up where we're all at. The words are quite cutting with stunningly good phrases, and I think we all wish we'd written this one! A top notch track.

Saying as it is, good to hear, 'love your style of story telling, good stuff indeed:). Take care mate, Mauri.
Strong words! Appropriate words! Right words at the right time. And a song in a great tradition. Think Seeger, Think Guthrie. And we sure got a reason for writing songs in our time that remember the power of words of that day. Great lyrics, great singing, great strumming! Very very good!
