Blackland: Southern Rock-N-Roll
BLACKLAND: original rock-n-roll. The band has been peforming since 1998 at clubs, festivials and fairs throughout the Southeast. We have released three albums so far and working on a forth. Blackland's all original music comes from the heart and soul of Muscle Shoals, Alabama but don't be confused, you will hear very little (if any) of the old "Muscle Shoals Sound". The music has been described as "Metallica meets Skynyrd" and we are totally cool with that, actually we embrace it. The band makes it home in the former East Avalon Recorders facility in Muscle Shoals. The studio is now known as Clear Day Studio and our music is published through Cleardaymessenger Publishing. This song is about the ghost that haunts the forks of cypress ruins located in Florence, Alabama.
Lyrics
theres an old bridge across a spooky creek the ruins of a mansion where the legends run so deep I used to go there when I was just a kid saw some of the strangest things I think I ever did legend has it when the moon is just right you can see a lady in red in the middle of the night she stands there crying for a man that cant come home you know he died trying in a fire long ago there's not much standing just some columns made of stone the ghost of a woman shes crying all alone maybe one day here soul will be set free and she can join him in thier eternity the banks of cyress such an erie place to be where the past came to life scared the hell out of me legend has it when the moon is just right you can see a lady in red in the middle of the night she stands there crying for a man who cant come home you know he died trying in a fire long ago
