Instrumental rock based on improvisation.
Open Source is the name I use for music I make that is fully based on improvisation. I am a guitar teacher in the Netherlands for 18 years now.... My influences: Steve Hackett, Andy Latimer, Robert Fripp, Steve Howe, but also Herbie Hancock. My all time hero (musically speaking) is Todd Rundgren.

Story behind the song
This piece was made in a new way (for me that is): the piano was played by Nils Ole Finbak of Norway and the guitar was played by me in the Netherlands. Nils Ole and myself are fans of Neil Morse, the new messiah of progressive rock (sorry Neil for using that word) and this is our little tribute to him. We never met each other, but Nils Ole sent me the piano part by mail and I made up the guitar solo. Nils Ole's playing reminded me of Camel albums of the early 80's, so I tried to play an Andy Latimer style melody. By the way, Nils Ole has his own page here: www.soundclick.com/nilsolefinbak, with a lot of melodic music.
