Home's Where The Heart Is

A 'Brit-Pop' ? styled song. Lots of jangly guitars and a driving bass-line. Vocals and harmonies, and hopefully, catchy guitar riffs and solos

Pop/Rock, Psychedelic, Ambient, Rhythm & Blues and beyond.
Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something.
I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
The lyrics are about travel fatigue, and the troubling state of the world today. Sometimes, you just want to be comfortable back in your own familiar place.
Once again, I've used my 1st. generation, Yamaha Revstar RE420 and my trusty Rickenbacker 4003 bass through a Line 6 Pod Go for all the guitar sounds on this song. I recorded it on a Zoom R-24 digital recorder.
All mixing and mastering was done in Adobe Audition (1.5) on my PC...still running Windows 10 !

Lyrics
Home's Where the Heart Is (David A Briggs) c 2025.
Intro: intro guitar riff ...

Of all the places, that I've been,
and all the things, that I have seen.
all the buses, all the trains,
all those ships, and all the planes.
                  [home's where the heart is]
I'd rather stay at home, I'd rather be at home.
                  [home's where the heart is]
I want to stay at home, I want to stay at home

I've lots of things, that I don't need,
I've lots of books, I'll never read.
Of all the places, in the world,
those hot war-zones, with flags unfurled...

home's where the heart is ... I'd rather be at home
it's all word-play, in this world of crime,
these truly are uncertain times.
Grand deception on a global scale,
those grand designs are doomed to fail.
When they say left, they mean right,
they can't agree, without a fight.
So just sleep tight, turn off the light,
a bright new day follows each dark night.
              (home's where the heart is)
but I'd rather stay at home, I'd rather be at home.
              (home's where the heart is)
I want to stay at home, I want to stay at home
guitar solo: followed by Intro guitar riff ...

Is it tea-time in Wonderland,
and is there some, great master-plan?
Don't loose your nerve, don't say a word,
these are the end days, or so I've heard
... or so I've heard ... or so I've heard
I want to stay at home, I want to stay at home
guitar solo: [ home's where the heart is ]

home's where the heart is, home's where the heart is,
                home's where the heart is,
I want to stay at home,
main intro riff fade-out (with reverb)
