Bad News Comin' Outa Memphis
Original Blues, Rock & Country for the Soul
Story behind the song
We were alerted to a bad situation at Memphis Animal Services, a shelter in Tennessee, USA, where there was a high kill rate, I hope things have improved since we wrote this song to highlight the issue and the need for positive change to help shelter pets find new homes.
Lyrics
'Bad News Comin' Outa Memphis'
There's bad news comin' out of Memphis
N' trouble everywhere you go
No rescue for the lost and weary
Seems these bad rocks have gotta roll
Get down to the nitty gritty tension
You'll see Memphis is too hot to mention!
Now there's trouble in the place they call a shelter
A place they're supposed to do good work
And nothin's gettin' out or gettin' better
And good ole family dogs are gettin' hurt
So admin let's see your credentials
And God save the lost souls in Memphis
Cos there's bad news comin' outa Memphis
N' heartbreak a tearin' up our eyes
Please save the innocent, defenceless
Lord they need your help tonight
Well I looked an' I've seen some sad ole pictures
And man's best friend has lost the fight
They're being locked away down there in Memphis
We gotta get together, put it right
I'm miles away but it still hurts me
And God won't yah make 'em show some mercy!
Cos there's bad news comin' outa Memphis
N' heartbreak tearin' up our eyes
Please save the innocent, defenceless
Lord they need your help tonight
There's bad news comin' out of Memphis
N' trouble everywhere you go
No rescue for the lost and weary
Seems these bad rocks have gotta roll
Get down to the nitty gritty tension
You'll see Memphis is too hot to mention!
Cos there's bad news comin' outa Memphis
N' heartbreak a' tearin' up our eyes
Please save the innocent, defenceless
Lord they need your help tonight
Cos there's bad news comin' outa Memphis
N' heartbreak a' tearin' up our eyes
Please save the innocent, defenceless
Lord they need your help, need your help, tonight!

Hi Maria... It's been too long since we have spoken. I'm digging the new song. You keep on fighting the good fight, girl. As usual you're in fine voice...and Paul sounds great as usual...as does the whole group. I've been very busy fighting off liver problems...it's been a pretty difficult two years...but I'm hanging in there. The band has also been busy filming a new HD Documentary with David Pendragon, and recording new music. The Documentary is called "The Road Less Traveled" and it, along with our new CD "Will There Be Tomorrow" are scheduled for release in January. The video is broadcast quality...so we are hoping for major exposure on cable TV outlets here and in Britatin and Australia. We have also added a new member to the band...Stephanie Krowka who we have been working with for a few years now...as a vocalist. You can listen to our newest recording, a new version of an old favorite "The Golden Sun" on our page. We recorded at The Power Station, one of the best studios in t
